Collection Background: “Castles in the Way,” in the tale it is part of, marks the beginning of the journey of a character learning to navigate a new place. This can be you and me, in many phases of our lives. It’s when and where we feel things are still materializing, viewed through ethereal eyes. The sinuous lines in these drawings resemble flames, evoking the emotional wonders encountered during my first encounters with Luxembourg’s castles. Inspired by the Valley of the Seven Castles Tour, this collection blends the splendor of Luxembourg’s castles with the magic of the surrounding bucolic landscapes.
